Last January 21, 2016 at Discovery Suites, we had a chance to check out Fujifilm’s upgrade on their flagship camera, the X-Pro. Here are a few things we noted.
Holding both X-Pro 1 and X-Pro 2, there are some notable changes that made this upgrade a better camera ergonomic-wise. One of the remarkable changes on the camera’s body is the Shutter Speed and ISO control top dial. Users now need to pull up and rotate the dial collar to change the ISO value. The exposure compensation dial was also updated to +3/-3 compared to the +2/-2 which the X-Pro 1 sported. This means that you can make changes on brightness of the photograph or video on the go while on Aperture Priority and Shutter Priority modes.
Another change can be found on the layout of the buttons. The Drive, Auto Exposure (AE) and Auto Focus (AF) buttons were all transferred to the right hand side to ensure that you are not using both of your hands to access critical buttons. The new AF point selection joystick was also added. It can be used to change AF points vertically, horizontally and diagonally which helps your camera focus where you want to.
Fuji’s Hybrid Viewfinder was also revamped. It now has an option to show a digital rangefinder, a small electronic live-view, of the scene when using optical viewfinder. Using this feature will help a user to focus a photo easier and check to see if the exposure is correct. The optical viewfinder also increases its magnification from .38x to .60x when a user is using lenses longer than 35mm.

The best improvements though are inside the Magnesium alloy body of the camera.
As for the Sensor, the X-Pro 2 houses a new 24 Megapixels X-Trans CMOS III. This sensor partnered with the updated X-Processor Pro will allow the camera to maximize the 273 AF-Sensor points through Phase Detection, and produce a photo that has less noise and great tonal and color reproduction. You can expect better image quality.
The camera also allows a user to shoot 8 photos a second, a maximum shutter speed of 1/8000 and a sync speed of 1/250.
After a long development of the new X-Pro 2, for sure this new camera carries all the top specs Fuji has to offer at the SRP of PHP 90,990. It can be pre-ordered as early as this coming Photoworld Manila (January 28-February 2).
